To say there is a strong Euro car scene in Minnesota is an understatement. Last weekend it was all on display at Eurowerks ‘17. Located at the modern Graco corporate complex set against the Minneapolis skyline, this show had it all. I went to cover the show expecting to walk around for an hour or so snapping pics. However, I found myself four hours later rocking a mean sunburn and with sore feet.
Eurowerks draws in the best cars from the Midwest. The show is a mix between serious car show, with judging, awards and even cash money, and easy going hang out for enthusiasts to get together. They have made it a weekend event with the Fall Rally on Saturday and car show on Sunday. The Fall Rally takes participants through the best road Minnesota’s river basin has to offer before meeting for Lunch in Red Wing, MN.
The Royalty Lot (their VIP area) included some of the best examples of European automotive quality. Chris Runge’s hand-built FF007 took home Best Of Show and Best Custom Body Work awards, which are well deserved for the quality of his one of a kind builds. There were five other parking areas throughout the complex which included a row of immaculate Porsches, an area for vendors and food trucks. MNMB (Minnesota Mercedes-Benz) and DOOM (Ducati Owners of Minnesota) had their tents there along with a few of their member’s cars and bikes on display.
We will have a few feature articles coming up from this show including the cleanest MK2 Golf in the show and a Singer Porsche that was hiding out with the other Porsches. So stay tuned in the coming week for those!
